Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and verify payroll inputs to ensure payroll data is accurate, comprehensive, and formally approved before processing.
- Support offshore payroll operations by managing timesheets, pay adjustments, leave records, and employee status changes.
- Conduct pre- and post-payroll reconciliations, auditing, and exception reporting to guarantee compliance and payroll accuracy.
- Assist in payroll compliance concerning superannuation, payroll taxes, third-party deductions, and statutory payments.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex payroll inquiries, resolving payroll discrepancies, adjustments, and off-cycle payments.
- Collaborate with internal departments and offshore payroll providers to uphold high standards in payroll processing.
- Contribute to payroll-related projects, system improvements, testing, and updates reflecting legislative changes, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements.
- Maintain comprehensive payroll documentation conforming to business and legal requirements.
Candidate Profile and Experience
- Three to five years of comprehensive payroll processing experience.
- Proven ability managing multiple payroll cycles (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) covering both salaried and hourly employees.
- Sound knowledge of payroll regulations, compliance standards, and controls.
- Experience operating in a dynamic, high-volume work setting, preferably in retail or a related sector.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills for payroll data and financial reconciliation.
- Familiarity with payroll, HRIS, and time & attendance platforms, including Affinity Payroll, SuccessFactors, and Kronos.
