Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain robust, secure production code and perform comprehensive code reviews and debugging.
• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers, facilitating daily activities and fostering skill growth.
• Collaborate within Agile teams to architect and implement scalable data processing systems intended for high-volume batch processing.
• Drive adoption of enterprise-approved AI-enhanced engineering practices to boost code quality, development speed, and operational effectiveness.
• Utilize Software Development Life Cycle tools including AI-assisted development and automation to add value through enhanced operational efficiency.
• Identify and automate remediation of repetitive issues to enhance software operational reliability.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders, leading presentations of technical ideas and solutions.
• Lead software engineering communities of practice to encourage the adoption of emerging technologies.
• Influence architectural and strategic decisions for data processing and market surveillance technologies.
• Promote excellence in coding standards, system architecture, and operational practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Formal education or certification in software engineering with at least five years of relevant experience.
• Advanced skills in Core Java and Java EE development, along with strong capabilities in automation and continuous delivery.
• Expertise in agile development including continuous integration/deployment, application resiliency, and security best practices.
• Strong proficiency in database programming, specifically in designing enterprise-scale high-volume data processing applications.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL performance optimization and troubleshooting.
• Proven leadership in using AI-assisted software development tools effectively, ensuring validation of AI outputs for functionality, security, and performance.
• Understanding of responsible AI application in engineering workflows, managing data sensitivity, security compliance, and coaching teams in safe AI adoption.
• Experience with batch processing systems and workflow management tools such as Autosys.
• Ability to handle pressure, demonstrate initiative in problem-solving, and deliver timely solutions.
• Strong analytical mindset, multitasking aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication and collaboration capabilities.
• Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and AI coding assistants to enhance secure code writing, automated testing, and documentation, with emphasis on data privacy and traceability.

Preferred Skills

• Extensive practical experience with AWS and Databricks; relevant certifications are highly valued.
• Experience developing data pipelines using Apache Spark and a sound understanding of financial products like Futures, Options, FX, Commodities, Equities/Derivatives and trade lifecycles.
• Knowledge of market surveillance systems for regulatory compliance and suspicious activity detection, coupled with strong stakeholder management skills.
