About the Role

This permanent full-time Housekeeper position is based at Aspira Doon Village Retirement Living in Kitchener, Ontario. The role involves working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and weekends from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. As a valued member of the retirement community team, you will provide essential housekeeping services that foster comfort and dignity for residents. You will build meaningful relationships by learning residents' stories beyond just their names and contribute to creating an environment that encourages joy in everyday life.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive cleaning assignments, collect necessary materials, and transport supplies efficiently within the facility.
  • Carry out thorough cleaning duties including resident room cleaning on schedule, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, shampooing carpets, spot cleaning walls, windows, and doors.
  • Dust and sanitize furniture, shelves, and woodwork surfaces.
  • Empty wastebaskets and rearrange furniture as needed.
  • Perform daily bathroom cleaning and disinfection, covering floors, fixtures, and walls.
  • Prepare rooms for incoming residents ensuring they are always ready for tours.
  • Respect residents’ privacy during cleaning and maintain confidentiality.
  • Complete additional housekeeping tasks as assigned to maintain a clean and safe environment.
