ASO Software Developer (Perl Developer)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join JAGGAER's Product Development Team focused on building our Advanced Sourcing Optimizer (ASO). This role suits a developer passionate about creating innovative features, advancing our software product, and mastering existing technology platforms. The ASO is structured as a microservices system, providing a dynamic environment for developers comfortable working across various programming languages and technologies.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

• At least five years of professional software development experience is highly preferred.
• Strong expertise in Perl programming is essential; candidates with experience in Python, Ruby, or Java may also be considered, provided there is a readiness to work with Object-Oriented Perl.
• The candidate should be prepared to align their work schedule primarily with US Eastern Time hours to facilitate effective team collaboration.
• A thorough understanding of web application programming and architecture across different technology stacks, especially LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), is advantageous.
• Familiarity with software development tools and practices such as version control (Git), testing, debugging, and proper documentation standards is required.
• Proficient knowledge of relational database concepts, designing, and SQL querying is critical; experience with MySQL is preferred.
• Ability to adjust work hours and priorities in response to project timelines and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities are necessary.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
