Program Details

Positions Available

• Two positions in Commercial & Industrial waste services.
• Two positions in Municipal waste services.

Role Responsibilities

• Operate diverse waste collection vehicles such as rear lift, front lift, and side lift trucks safely and efficiently.
• Collect waste and recyclable material across Adelaide metro areas.
• Perform loading, unloading, and transport duties to designated disposal and recovery sites.
• Conduct vehicle inspections before and after shifts.
• Maintain accurate operational records and paperwork.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a clean vehicle appearance.
• Adhere to safety standards, working independently and collaboratively as part of the team.
• Perform manual handling tasks as needed.

Working Hours and Roster

• Commercial & Industrial services: Monday to Friday, starting from midnight onward, typically 10-12 hour shifts.
• Municipal services: Monday to Friday, shifts usually between 6am and 7pm with varying lengths.
• Additional overtime opportunities as per business requirements.

Remuneration and Benefits

• Hourly base pay at Level 4 Classification: $34.28 per hour.
• Meal allowance after 10 hours of work.
• Overtime paid at 1.5 times after first 7.6 ordinary hours for first two hours, then double time thereafter.

Eligibility Criteria

• Current unrestricted Australian driver’s license held for at least 24 months.
• Minimum of 8 demerit points remaining on license.
• Safe driving record.
• Legal right to work in Australia.
• Availability for the full five-week training program and flexible shifts.
• Ability to undertake physically active roles including manual handling.
• Successful completion of pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing, license and background checks.
