Role Overview
We have recently established a logistics hub in Skopje to oversee central planning and transportation for Lear's seating plants across Europe and Africa. As part of our growth, we seek motivated individuals for the Materials Planner role. This position is instrumental in aligning material and logistics operations to meet customer needs, achieve manufacturing productivity goals, and implement industry-leading practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely delivery of production materials to manufacturing lines following Just In Time principles, achieving daily performance targets.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including collaboration with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Manage and analyze customer schedules, issuing accurate supplier schedules to avoid premium costs.
- Support manufacturing demands and customer requirements through effective materials planning.
- Oversee supplier lead times to maintain seamless production flow.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and targets, ensuring value accuracy.
- Update and manage supplier and inventory data within ERP systems to align with operational needs.
- Facilitate cost-effective and timely integration of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and introduction of new parts.
- Provide operational insights and support to management regarding supply chain issues.
- Adhere to and continuously improve departmental procedures ensuring 100% production material delivery.
- Implement systems to hold suppliers accountable and manage supply chain changes to fulfill site objectives.
- Utilize problem-solving and communication skills to support internal departments and customers, improving quality and productivity.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders concerning component supply and logistics.
Qualifications and Skills
- University degree in Engineering, Business, IT, or a related discipline; logistics specialization is preferred.
- Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are advantageous.
- Minimum of two years of experience in materials planning, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical aptitude for data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of explaining technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset combined with a team-oriented approach.
- Confident, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, varied environment.
- Effective negotiation and time management skills, prioritizing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
