Job description

About the Role

This opportunity is with AIGP Health, a health-tech startup supported by SGInnovate. AIGP is developing Anzu, an AI-driven clinical intelligence platform designed to reduce preventable medical errors by synthesizing patient records, checking against safety standards, identifying care gaps, and automating follow-ups. The company’s mission focuses on advancing health equity and accessibility throughout Southeast Asia by enabling clinicians to provide high-quality care more efficiently.

The position is for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to contribute across the entire stack for the HSA-approved digital health product, Anzu. Your work will span backend services, data and ML infrastructure, AI agent development, and user-facing frontend features that healthcare professionals and users rely on daily. The team values ownership, speed, and deep engagement with the actual clinical and patient contexts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop features using an AI-Driven Development Life Cycle (AIDLC), incorporating AI coding assistants such as Claude Code within all phases: specification, implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Create prompts, workflows, guardrails, and CI hooks to leverage AI agents for repetitive coding tasks safely and effectively.
  • Conduct rigorous reviews of AI-generated code and test coverage, ensuring correctness, security, and maintainability regardless of source.
  • Advance AI-assisted development methodologies by defining what aspects to automate, determining appropriate human oversight, and measuring impacts on development speed and quality.
  • Design and implement backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Python, emphasizing performance, correctness, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with ML components, especially those utilizing PyTorch, integrating them into production features.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP, handling deployment, storage, pipelines, and operational monitoring.
  • Ensure data models and system integrations comply with digital health standards for accuracy, security, and auditability.
  • Develop and maintain frontend user interfaces focused on responsiveness, accessibility, and usability for clinical and operational users.
  • Work closely with product and design teams to translate requirements into scalable frontend architectures using modern JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React.
  • Build and maintain comprehensive automated testing suites, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, embedding quality assurance into feature delivery.
  • Set quality criteria tailored for health-tech, including traceability, reproducibility, and systematic defect management.
  • Apply AI-assisted testing techniques such as mutation testing, fuzzing, and AI-generated test cases to enhance coverage and identify edge cases.
  • Analyze production issues to identify root causes and implement process and tooling improvements to prevent recurrence.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum four years of professional experience in full-stack software development, with proficiency in both backend and frontend domains and associated quality assurance practices.
  • Strong programming skills in Python; experience with PyTorch or similar machine learning/data frameworks is advantageous, including shipping model-backed features.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing services on cloud platforms like AWS and/or GCP, familiar with deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code.
  • Solid understanding of frontend technologies, including modern JavaScript/TypeScript and component-based frameworks (e.g., React) along with an emphasis on user experience.
  • Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools in production environments, with thoughtful insights on their benefits and limitations.
  • Proactive quality mindset, routinely writing tests and anticipating potential failure points, owning quality as an integral responsibility.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to clearly document technical specifications, AI prompt designs, reviews, and present progress in cross-functional meetings.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and fast-paced startup dynamics.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated sectors such as health-tech, biotech, fintech, or medtech, with an understanding of the quality standards needed when dealing with sensitive clinical or patient data.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data regulations and compliance frameworks including PDPA, HIPAA, GDPR, HL7/FHIR, GxP, and SOC 2.
  • Expertise in designing custom AI agent workflows and tooling.
  • Previous experience owning features or systems end-to-end in a small hybrid team environment, from development through production support.

Technology Stack

  • Backend and Machine Learning: Python, PyTorch
  • Frontend: Modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React or similar component frameworks
  • AI-Enhanced Development Tools: Claude Code, customized AI agent workflows, CI integration for AI-based code review and testing
