About the Company

The client is a privately owned business with approximately 35 employees operating in the industrial project sector. As owners are actively involved, this role offers exceptional access to key decision-makers and a chance to support both strategic and operational decision processes.

Role Overview

This leadership position blends financial management with commercial insight and systems enhancement. The role provides high visibility across the entire enterprise and allows the incumbent to influence business outcomes directly. Responsibilities encompass financial stewardship, commercial analysis, and the continuous advancement of finance systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and yearly financial reports.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and foreign currency dealings.
  • Analyze project profitability, margins, cost control, and overall business performance.
  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable, debtor management, and payroll compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to tax laws, statutory requirements, and internal controls in collaboration with external Chartered Accountants.
  • Lead month-end closing activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Administer NetSuite ERP system, promoting improvements in reporting, system use, and data accuracy.
  • Partner with operations leaders to facilitate informed commercial decisions.
  • Lead and mentor a Finance Administrator, nurturing a high-performing finance team.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager, or comparable senior finance leadership role.
  • Expertise in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow oversight.
  • Background in project-driven sectors such as construction, engineering, manufacturing, or distribution.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and a strong focus on process enhancement and business partnership.
  • Excellent communication skills for influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated people leadership and a collaborative management style.
