Job description
Role Overview
As a Dispenser at Boots in the UK, you will form an essential part of the pharmacy team, supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to provide safe and effective pharmacy services. Your primary role involves assisting with prescription dispensing, delivering healthcare advice, and ensuring compliance with safety standards within the store environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately and ensure the safe supply of medications, including ordering, labelling, endorsing, and handling prescription collections.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to help manage and deliver a wide range of pharmacy services.
- Offer patients informed advice about medicines and refer queries to pharmacists when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to guarantee safe and lawful dispensing.
- Stay updated with new store innovations and comply with operational protocols.
- Support patients in managing their prescriptions efficiently, including repeat prescriptions and promoting medicine adherence to minimize waste.
- Engage with evolving in-store technologies to improve dispensing processes and enhance patient safety, allowing more direct patient engagement.
Requirements
- Successful completion of the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or an equivalent credential, or currently progressing with the first year of an MPharm degree.
- Possession of a valid UK right to work; sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visa is not available for this role.
Preferred but not mandatory:
Experience within a community pharmacy setting.

Additional Details
This position requires presence in-store in the UK; remote applications or applicants without UK work authorization will not be considered.
