Deloitte’s Information Technology Services team is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer to join the Auckland office. This team creates and supports data, analytics, and BI solutions that help employees and clients make better decisions. The focus is on building reporting platforms and data models that are dependable, scalable, secure, and fast.

Role overview

In this position, you will partner with internal stakeholders and business teams to deliver reporting and analytics solutions that are useful, accurate, and easy to use. You will also help improve existing reports and data pipelines, and support the wider organisation with reporting tools and insights.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualisations.
• Work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and turn them into practical outputs.
• Design and tune data models with DAX and SSAS Tabular to support interactive and time-based reporting.
• Work across teams to gather, transform, and combine data from different sources.
• Oversee the current reporting portfolio and make continuous improvements as business needs change.
• Investigate, diagnose, and fix issues in reports and data pipelines.
• Develop and refine SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures used in reporting solutions.
• Assist with deployment, maintenance, and release work, including support outside normal hours when needed.
• Keep reporting solutions secure, well-governed, and performance-focused within the Deloitte environment.
• Coach and assist internal teams and stakeholders on reporting tools and outputs.
• Stay current with new technologies and best practices to support ongoing improvement.

Candidate profile

You should have at least 2 years of full-time experience in business intelligence, reporting, or data analytics. You need strong hands-on capability with Power BI, DAX, SSAS Tabular or semantic models, Microsoft SQL Server, and dimensional modelling. Experience with data warehousing and ETL/ELT workflows is also important, along with exposure to Azure data services and cloud-based reporting platforms. Familiarity with DevOps practices or CI/CD for reporting and data pipelines will be an advantage.
