Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar for an Air Traffic Controller. The role is responsible for directing and coordinating aircraft movement safely and efficiently within assigned airspace and at designated airports. The controller will use radar, radio, and other surveillance and communication tools to issue instructions and clearances, maintain aircraft separation, organize arrivals and departures, and manage en-route traffic. The position requires constant evaluation of traffic flow and weather conditions, quick response to operational changes, and strict adherence to QCAA and ICAO-aligned procedures. The role operates within a 24/7 team environment and includes accurate recordkeeping, participation in operational briefings and debriefings, and contribution to ongoing safety and performance enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
Handle aircraft movements with a focus on safety, order, and efficiency.
Issue clearances, route guidance, and other instructions to pilots as required.
Track aircraft positions using radar and other surveillance systems.
Coordinate arrivals, departures, and en-route traffic to help prevent conflicts and reduce delays.
Review traffic patterns and weather developments continuously, and adapt operations accordingly.
Apply QCAA regulations as well as relevant international aviation standards and procedures.
Work collaboratively within a shift-based, round-the-clock operational team.
Keep detailed and accurate operational records.
Take part in shift briefings and handovers, and support continuous improvement in safety and performance.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates should have strong practical experience in traffic control and air traffic control operations, particularly in managing busy airspace safely and efficiently.
Experience with airspace management and radar-based surveillance, separation, and navigation support is required.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to supervise and coordinate effectively with colleagues to maintain standardized and safe team operations.
Formal air traffic control training from a recognized institution is expected, along with an existing ATC license or eligibility for one in line with ICAO requirements.
Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, are necessary; additional languages will be an advantage.
Good judgment, situational awareness, analytical thinking, and the ability to solve problems under pressure are essential.
Candidates must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, in a 24/7 operations environment.
A high level of integrity, close attention to detail, and a strong commitment to aviation safety and regulatory compliance are required.
