About the Role and Location

This position is based at Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort, a luxurious destination on the Arabian Gulf in the tranquil emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Anantara Hotels & Resorts is an internationally renowned brand inspired by Thai culture and authentic hospitality, dedicated to offering memorable guest experiences.

The resort provides access to diverse natural attractions including beaches, deserts, and mountains, combining unique cultural and adventure opportunities for guests.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operations within the Sports & Recreation department to ensure outstanding guest satisfaction.
• Design and introduce innovative activities based on local cultural and sporting attractions to enhance the hotel's competitive edge.
• Master thorough knowledge of all sports and leisure services, activities, and equipment offered by the hotel.
• Enforce strict adherence to health and safety protocols, especially ensuring the safety of children during all recreational activities.
• Implement the Minor Hotels Children’s program effectively.
• Maintain a safe environment by supervising adherence to proper safety methods.
• Utilize qualified specialists where required, such as fitness leaders, aerobics instructors, and lifeguards.
• Evaluate activity program success through participant numbers and guest feedback, adjusting offerings to maintain quality and enjoyment.
• Coordinate with the Minor Hotels Concierge to effectively communicate activity offerings to guests.
• Collaborate with Spa services to maximize guest engagement and hotel revenue through cross-promotion.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of all recreational equipment across gym, sports, water sports, and in-house activities.
• Provide guests and members with guidance and motivation to meet their exercise and fitness goals within the gym.
• Maintain records of guest fitness information for progress monitoring and follow-up.
• Foster strong teamwork with other hotel departments.
• Adhere to correct accounting procedures for collection and charging of sports and recreation fees.
• Take on additional Sports & Recreation duties or special projects as assigned by management.
• Aim to increase departmental revenue through effective program management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior experience working in recreational settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Approachable and professional demeanor when assisting guests.
• Understanding of basic safety protocols and capability to respond properly to emergencies.
• Physical stamina to stand for long durations and actively oversee or participate in recreational activities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are considered beneficial.
• Basic familiarity with recreational equipment and facility upkeep.
