General Merchandise Associate

Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a General Merchandise Associate provides an excellent opportunity to build your retail skills while representing Walmart's core values. This role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining the presentation of merchandise, and supporting the sales process through efficient stocking and store upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, assisting in locating and promoting products, facilitating purchasing decisions, handling concerns, and directing issues appropriately.
• Manage designated areas on the sales floor by organizing merchandise and ensuring proper zoning.
• Relocate feature merchandise to its designated location and recover products from the Customer Service desk and other store zones.
• Support Front End associates when required and maintain communication with team members to assure continuous floor coverage.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment by following company policies, completing safety checks, and securing displays and fixtures.
• Perform stocking duties including product placement, downstocking, applying product protection measures, and setting modular displays with updated shelf labels.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
