Databricks Administrator

About the Role

We are seeking a proficient Databricks Administrator with between two to five years of experience in managing Databricks platforms. The successful candidate will have practical knowledge of Databricks environment administration, overseeing clusters, managing security policies, workspace management, and continuous monitoring of the platform’s operational health.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee, configure, and maintain various Databricks environments to ensure optimal performance.
• Administer workspaces, cluster resources, jobs, and compute units within Databricks.
• Set up and govern Unity Catalog alongside managing access controls and compliance policies.
• Regularly monitor system performance to enhance cluster efficiency and resource utilization.
• Enforce security standards including role-based access control (RBAC) and user access management.
• Participate in deployment activities, including system migrations and upgrades to ensure smooth transitions.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to platform functionality, cluster operation, and network connectivity.
• Work in collaboration with data engineering teams by supporting their data processing requirements.
• Maintain high levels of platform availability, reliability, and operational standards.
• Develop and update documentation and procedures related to platform support and operations.

Candidate Profile

• Two to five years of hands-on experience in Databricks administration or platform support roles.
• Strong expertise with Azure Databricks, including cluster and workspace management.
• Familiarity with job scheduling, governance practices, and Unity Catalog implementation.
• Working knowledge of PySpark and fundamental data engineering principles.
• Experience with monitoring tools, troubleshooting techniques, and optimizing platform performance.
• Acquainted with Azure cloud services and infrastructure environments.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking.
• Effective communication skills for managing diverse stakeholders.

Eligibility

Candidates holding a B.Tech or B.E. degree in any discipline, B.Sc. in any specialization, or a B.C.A. qualification in any area are eligible to apply.
