Job description
Overview
This role is based in Lusail, Qatar, within a prestigious hospitality environment. The Supervisor - Engineering is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and preventive care of various tools, devices, and equipment. The individual ensures operational calibration of controls, indicators, and meters and manages inventory and ordering of parts and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, and apparatus, recommending replacements as necessary.
- Calibrate all control mechanisms, indicators, and measuring devices.
- Identify, locate, and maintain all shut-off valves.
- Order, tag, and store parts and supplies according to requirements.
- Manage inventory and purchase order records effectively.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery regularly.
- Utilize computers for data entry and retrieval related to job functions.
- Operate forklifts safely as part of daily tasks.
- Complete safety life checklists including fire pump and generator function tests.
- Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
- Support development of accident and disaster response protocols.
- Respond promptly and resolve guest repair requests.
- Assist management with recruitment, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, motivating, and developing staff.
- Adhere to all company safety and security policies; report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a professional appearance, uniform, and personal hygiene; uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests in line with company standards; anticipate and fulfill guest service needs; assist individuals with disabilities.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues; support teamwork to meet collective goals; communicate effectively and address employee concerns appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards; identify and implement improvements to efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings.
- Perform regular physical inspections of tools and machines; engage in physical activities like stretching, lifting, bending, climbing stairs, and moving objects up to 50 pounds as required.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Technical, vocational, or trade school certificate or diploma.
- Minimum of two years of related work experience.
- At least two years experience in a supervisory role.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
