Senior Product Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join a partner company based in Saudi Arabia. This senior role involves full-stack product engineering with a focus on creating reliable, production-grade web applications end-to-end. You will collaborate in a small, accountable engineering pod alongside product and domain specialists. The role encompasses front-end, back-end, database management, cloud infrastructure, testing, and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage product features from inception through deployment and monitoring, turning ambiguous inputs into well-defined, testable outcomes.
• Work closely with product owners and domain experts to convert business needs into technically feasible solutions.
• Develop full-stack software using React and TypeScript/Node.js for frontend and services, PostgreSQL databases, and event-driven AWS cloud systems.
• Ensure the delivery of maintainable and reliable software, contributing to architectural and design decisions.
• Implement and maintain automated testing workflows including unit and Playwright end-to-end testing.
• Integrate AI tools for coding assistance, code review, and quality assurance to enhance development efficiency and quality.
• Take ownership of software operation and support, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
• Document technical decisions, criteria, and changes thoroughly to maintain team clarity.
• Proactively manage delivery risks and ensure feature progress from development through to production.
• Provide technical leadership within the pod by sharing knowledge and driving ownership and problem-solving.

Candidate Requirements

• More than 5 years of professional experience shipping production web software, skilled in both frontend and backend development.
• Proven track record of handling feature delivery from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Expertise with TypeScript, Node.js, React or similar technologies across full stack development.
• Strong skills in relational databases like PostgreSQL with solid data modeling abilities.
• Experience using AWS or similar cloud platforms, including knowledge of event-driven backend architectures.
• Strong testing practices including unit and end-to-end testing using tools such as Playwright.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development workflows and tools integrated into daily engineering activities.
• Experience working in complex or regulated environments such as fintech, accounting, legal, or taxation is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to independently identify risks and solve technical challenges.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and domain experts.
• Strong documentation skills to clearly record decision rationale, acceptance criteria, and estimates.
• Self-motivated to improve requirements autonomously beyond simply executing pre-defined tickets.
• Willingness to engage across multiple technical layers, including front-end, back-end, data, testing, and cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with technologies like Node.js 20, Fastify, Express, React 18, module federation, PostgreSQL/Aurora, AWS Lambda, SQS, S3, ECS, and distributed event-driven systems is advantageous.
