Pest Control Technician

About the Role

Join Rentokil Initial as a Pest Control Technician based at the South and West Wales branch, servicing Portsmouth, Southampton, and Bournemouth. This role involves managing your schedule independently and resolving varied pest-related challenges onsite for both commercial and residential clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective bird and rodent exclusion solutions, such as installing bird netting, bird points, and rodent-proofing systems, including cleaning bird droppings and rodent remains.
• Fit pest control equipment like external bait stations and use specialized systems such as Flexi Armour to prevent pest entry.
• Support routine inspections and assist fellow local technicians when necessary.
• Ensure strict adherence to job safety by following risk assessments and method statements, maintaining safe operations especially when working at heights or confined spaces.
• Lead job progress from initiation through to completion, including managing supplies and equipment, and independently handling daily tasks as a lead technician.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by identifying pest issues and developing new business opportunities, even under adverse weather or challenging conditions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a full UK driving license held for more than two years with a clean record of no more than six penalty points.
• GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English at grade C (4) or above are preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to meet operational demands.
• Candidates may need to pass a DBS check depending on specific role requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting basic salary of £27,669 annually, with an anticipated on-target earnings of £32,447 including bonuses and commissions.
