Janitor

Job Overview

The Janitor is responsible for performing commercial custodial cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the buildings.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned cleaning activities following training and comply with all corporate, project, and contractual guidelines.
• Ensure safety by adhering to company and project safety requirements during all tasks.
• Maintain quality standards according to corporate, project, and contract specifications.
• Dry mop, sanitize, and wet mop flooring surfaces.
• Clean baseboards, corners, and edges to remove dirt and dust.
• Spot clean walls, doors, and windows as necessary.
• Vacuum carpets thoroughly.
• Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures including commodes, urinals, showers, partitions, floors, and walls.
• Sanitize group and shower locker rooms, cleaning all vertical/horizontal walls and lockers.
• Restock restrooms with toilet paper, paper towels, seat covers, and soap as needed.
• Refill breakroom supplies such as paper towels and hand soap.
• Empty trash bins and collect recyclables for appropriate disposal.
• Clean water fountains and interior/exterior glass surfaces.
• Mix cleaning chemicals and fluids properly when required.
• Identify and report any needed repairs to furniture, building elements, or fixtures.
• Exhibit a professional, courteous, and cooperative attitude when engaging with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Communicate effectively with management, staff, and customers.
• Perform additional tasks as directed.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Must be a U.S. citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain base access.
• Valid state driver's license required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent mandatory.
• A minimum of two years of recent experience in commercial janitorial cleaning.
