Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced AS/400 Developer based in Hyderabad with over 5 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in core AS/400 technologies including DB2/400, CL, RPG III, RPG IV, and Free Form RPG, as well as strong skills in SQL/400 and QUERY/400 utilities. This role involves both development and support activities within Manufacturing and Supply Chain domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, support and maintain applications using various AS/400 technologies.
- Perform data extraction as per detailed specifications, leveraging EDI tools and processes.
- Work with database technologies including DDS physical and logical files, SQL files, stored procedures, and complex SQL queries to optimize performance.
- Implement advanced ILE concepts like procedures, service programs, and functions.
- Participate in AS/400 modernization projects.
- Apply best practices for application and database performance tuning.
- Prepare comprehensive design and estimation documents for proposed development changes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to resolve issues and develop technical specification documents.
- Design and develop applications strictly according to technical specifications provided by business users.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive hands-on experience utilizing AS/400 core technologies and tools.
- Strong understanding of SQL queries, stored procedures, and complex database structures within AS/400 environment.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing and Supply Chain domain processes.
- Ability to prepare detailed design and estimation documentation.
- Exposure to modernization efforts for AS/400 applications.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with business users and technical teams.
