Position Overview
Join Planys Technologies as a Mechanical Design Intern, where you will engage in hands-on activities related to submerged robotic inspection and survey systems. The internship offers exposure to the design and manufacturing of underwater robotic platforms, emphasizing mechanical engineering principles and product development.
Core Responsibilities
- Support the design and fabrication of robotic equipment through CAD modeling and prototyping activities.
- Utilize SolidWorks software to develop mechanical components and assemblies.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical product design in project work.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, including understanding GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and documentation.
- Possibly engage with underwater systems or pressure vessel-related tasks to gain domain-specific insights.
Candidate Profile
- Currently enrolled in or completed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or pursuing Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience with SolidWorks CAD software, with certification considered a valuable asset.
- Familiarity with mechanical design standards and manufacturing techniques.
- Relevant academic projects or internship experience in mechanical, robotics, or marine engineering fields.
- Basic understanding of GD&T principles and mechanical drawings interpretation.
- Boni include any experience with underwater equipment, rotating machinery, or pressure vessels.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be available for a full-time, in-office internship based in Chennai.
- Internship start date between August 24, 2026 and September 28, 2026.
- Commitment to a six-month duration for the internship.
- Possess relevant skills and genuine interest in mechanical design and robotics.
