System Security Engineer

Role overview

Anix Global is seeking a System Security Engineer for its Abu Dhabi location. This position focuses on the deployment, support, and upkeep of integrated security technologies across enterprise environments, with emphasis on video surveillance, access control, public address, and intercom solutions.

Experience needed

The role calls for a minimum of 5 years of technical IT support experience, including at least 3 years working specifically as a security systems engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, configure, and support security systems while keeping them dependable, scalable, and high performing.
• Provide administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting support for video surveillance, access control, public address, and intercom platforms in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Continuously observe system health and act early on performance issues to keep all security solutions operating efficiently.
• Prepare detailed technical materials such as processes, operating procedures, troubleshooting references, and training content.
• Collaborate with IT security and networking teams to protect data and maintain overall system security, including timely application of security, cumulative, and firmware updates.
• Keep accurate records of all systems, including software and firmware versions, build numbers, and revision dates.
• Support operations and project teams in defining security requirements for new work, upgrades, migrations, and procurement of devices, software licenses, and installation materials.
• Track annual maintenance agreements, product lifecycle dates, end-of-life and end-of-support status, subscription renewals, and support contracts for all security systems.

Technical requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or a qualification from a technical school.
• Practical experience deploying, installing, and maintaining enterprise video surveillance systems such as Milestone, Genetec, Axxonsoft, and Axis.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise access control systems such as Dormakaba, Salto, Lenel, Idemia/Morpho, Suprema, and HID.
• Experience with public address and intercom solutions including Bosch, Commend, Zenitel, and Aiphone.
• Strong knowledge of server operating systems and server hardware.
• Solid understanding of IP-based security platforms, network infrastructure fundamentals, and TCP/IP.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and work with network hardware, software, and related processes.
• A relevant certification is required.
