Role overview

Larsen & Toubro is looking for a Surveyor to support transmission line survey work in Nagaur, Rajasthan. The role calls for hands-on experience in surveying for 765 KV transmission line projects and the ability to handle detailed as well as check surveys, contour work, prop setting, and data extraction using DGPS and Total Station equipment.

The position also requires experience with major survey assignments on similar or higher transmission line projects, along with a solid working knowledge of Excel and Word. Familiarity with AutoCAD and PLS is also expected.

What you will do

• Carry out detailed land surveys using appropriate instruments and techniques to establish accurate positions, elevations, and alignments for transmission line elements such as towers, conductors, insulators, and related equipment.
• Gather dependable survey data covering existing structures, terrain, property boundaries, and other project-critical details using GPS units, total stations, laser scanners, and similar tools.
• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to clarify project needs, anticipate constraints, and keep survey work aligned with timelines and objectives.
• Support right-of-way identification for the transmission line by helping ensure legal and regulatory compliance, including review of land ownership, easements, and permissions required for construction.
• Prepare maps, diagrams, reports, digital terrain models, topographic maps, and as-built drawings based on survey findings, while keeping records organized and easy to access.
• Check survey data for accuracy and completeness, and validate that measurements and calculations meet the required standards and specifications.
• Follow all safety procedures and compliance requirements during survey operations, while staying aligned with applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices.

Technical requirements

Applicants should bring relevant surveying experience in 765 KV transmission line work. They should be able to manage detail and check surveying, contouring, prop setting, and extraction of data from DGPS and Total Station. Experience in major survey activities on comparable or higher transmission line projects is essential.

Tools and software

Strong command of Excel and Word is required. The candidate should also be comfortable working with AutoCAD and PLS.
