Job overview

This role calls for advanced programming expertise to build, maintain, and support solutions that address both internal and client requirements. You will help design and guide project-specific programming work across the full statistical programming lifecycle while acting as a technical point of support within the Statistical Programming team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, run, verify, and document programs that generate statistical tables, figures, and listings.
• Create analysis datasets and handle data exchanges for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Carry out database validation and quality control checks when needed.
• Combine and integrate data from multiple studies or data sources.
• Prepare and maintain programming documentation such as plans and specifications.
• Offer advanced technical support to internal and external stakeholders and independently deliver project solutions for teams and the department.
• Develop, implement, validate, and improve new processes, technologies, macros, and applications.
• Take on statistical team lead responsibilities for individual studies under supervision.
• Review the project scope of work, estimate effort, and track any work that falls outside scope for single studies.
• May be involved in budget handling, resource planning, and revenue/resource forecasting for single studies.
• May need to work with budgeting and quoting assumptions.
• Support junior colleagues and new hires through training, mentoring, and practical guidance.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience.
• Working knowledge of statistics, programming, and/or the clinical drug development process.
• Practical experience with computing tools such as Base SAS, SAS/STAT, and SAS Macro Language.
• Strong planning, interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Capability to juggle several tasks and projects at once.
• High attention to detail and strong accuracy.
• Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients.
