Role overview

We are hiring an accomplished Senior Manager PLC Programmer to take ownership of industrial automation design, programming, commissioning, and ongoing support. This position is suited to someone who brings deep practical experience with Mitsubishi and Siemens PLC systems, along with the ability to guide teams, coordinate projects, and improve plant performance.

What you will do

• Direct the PLC programming and automation function for both new installations and existing systems.
• Create, test, debug, and refine PLC logic on Mitsubishi and Siemens platforms.
• Set up and connect HMI, SCADA, VFD, servo, and industrial networking solutions.
• Oversee commissioning work at plant locations and at customer premises.
• Investigate production bottlenecks and introduce automation enhancements to improve output and lower downtime.
• Prepare control logic, functional documentation, and supporting technical records for automation systems.
• Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Production, and Maintenance teams to deliver projects smoothly.
• Make sure all development and commissioning work follows safety, quality, and applicable industry standards.
• Coach and develop junior PLC programmers and automation engineers.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and provide technical input during breakdown situations.
• Track project timelines, technical milestones, and customer commitments.

Desired background and experience

The role calls for a candidate with 15 to 25 years of experience in industrial automation and PLC programming. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a similar discipline is required. Strong practical exposure to Mitsubishi PLCs, including GX Works2, GX Works3, and MELSEC series, is important, as is hands-on work with Siemens PLCs such as STEP 7, TIA Portal, S7-1200, and S7-1500. Experience in HMI creation using Mitsubishi GOT and Siemens WinCC is also expected.

Applicants should understand SCADA platforms and communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and CC-Link. Familiarity with VFDs, servo drives, motion control, and industrial sensors is needed. The position also requires the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, carry out root-cause analysis, read electrical drawings, control schematics, and P&IDs, and work on machine automation, process automation, and production line integration. Strong project leadership, communication, and team management skills are essential.

Preferred exposure

Prior experience in manufacturing, automotive, FMCG, packaging, or process environments will be an advantage. Additional exposure to robotics, IIoT, Industry 4.0, or MES integration is considered beneficial. Familiarity with safety PLCs and functional safety practices is also preferred, along with experience managing multiple automation projects and cross-functional teams.
