Quality Inspector

Role overview

The Quality Control Inspector supports the repair of gas turbine parts by carrying out inspections at multiple stages, including acceptance, in-process checks, and final review. The position is centered on spotting defects, comparing findings with relevant codes, standards, and specifications, and making sure all work follows safety, quality, EHS, and internal company rules.

This role also requires familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT), the ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions, skill in using measuring tools, and the capability to prepare technical reports. SAP experience and Level II PT certification are preferred.

Key duties

• Inspect gas turbine components at incoming and final stages to identify defects and any nonconforming conditions.
• Assess measurements and findings against applicable codes, technical standards, and specification requirements.
• Work in line with GEMTEC policies and procedures while actively supporting EHS, quality, and compliance on the shop floor.
• Carry out inspection tasks across cell operations and deepen knowledge of quality processes in repair activities.
• Document job conditions and defects by preparing technical reports.

Qualifications and requirements

• A technical diploma or an equivalent level of hands-on experience in NDT.
• Working knowledge of NDT inspection methods.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Capability to understand technical drawings, REIs, work instructions, and QMS procedures.
• Skill in using measuring instruments such as calipers and dial indicators.
• Good understanding of quality, safety, and shop-floor support systems.
• Experience with shop computer systems is an advantage.
• SAP knowledge is preferred.
• Level II PT NDT certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of EHS expectations and quality practices in manufacturing operations.
• Ability to write clear technical reports and interpret technical documents.
