Role overview

Humana is seeking a Claims Recovery & Medical Records Procurement Lead to report to the Director of Category Management. In this role, you will shape category strategies, build sourcing plans, manage negotiations, execute contracts, and strengthen supplier partnerships. What you will do

  • Create a supplier segmentation approach that tailors sourcing and management methods by category and supplier type.
  • Develop multi-year sourcing pipelines that create overall value through cost reduction and supplier innovation.
  • Partner with the Continuous Improvement team on implementations that span multiple business units.
  • Support adoption of the preferred supplier program through communication and change management with end users.
  • Work alongside teams responsible for day-to-day support of selected programs and categories.
  • Coordinate with Procurement Operations and Corporate Payables to provide a smooth end-to-end experience for associates.
  • Establish and roll out sourcing practices that support environmental sustainability and supplier code of conduct expectations.
  • Reduce legal and commercial exposure for Humana.

Required qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant procurement experience.
  • Background in contract management and negotiation.
  • Experience building detailed supplier performance analyses that cover opportunities, risks, and cost structures.
  • Experience working with multiple internal stakeholders or customers.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work during Eastern Time or Central Time Zone business hours.

Preferred background

  • A 4-year degree in a related field, ideally business or a technical discipline.
  • Prior procurement experience in healthcare.
  • Procurement experience in professional services.

Additional information
