Role Overview

WEG is looking for a Process Engineer for its Duluth, GA site. In this position, you will examine production schedules, routing, workflow, and process requirements to strengthen manufacturing performance and uncover ways to work more efficiently. The role involves helping to design, evaluate, and roll out manufacturing methods that raise productivity, improve quality and safety, and reduce material and process waste. What You Will Do

  • Use Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering concepts to streamline workflows, cut waste, and raise process efficiency.
  • Perform time measurements, performance reviews, and KPI monitoring to spot improvement opportunities and assess outcomes.
  • Investigate and solve manufacturing issues tied to labor productivity, quality, safety, and ergonomics.
  • Create, revise, and maintain process documents, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Help design and implement changes in process flow, equipment arrangement, and facility layout.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership on process performance, findings, and improvement ideas.
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to support production and carry out improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards and support audits and operational needs.
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts, including 5S activities and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Research and help develop new or better manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Provide clear shop-floor instructions and help ensure process changes are implemented successfully.
  • Handle other departmental and operational tasks as needed.

What We Are Looking For

  • An engineering degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • At least 1 year of related experience.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, including root-cause analysis and solution implementation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence others and drive process and practice changes.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices such as Kaizen, 5S, and waste reduction.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI is preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or a similar design tool is preferred.
  • Comfort working across a variety of technical areas and adapting to changing needs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of health and safety rules in a manufacturing setting.
  • Manufacturing background, especially in assembly or industrial environments, is an advantage.
  • Exposure to AI tools or data-driven technologies for process improvement is a plus.
