Role overview
The Planner will be accountable for estimating project timelines and making sure agreed deadlines are achieved. This role works in close coordination with the Setter Out team, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics to keep projects on track and to ensure materials are available when needed.
Project planning and scheduling support
- Help build detailed schedules and delivery timelines for joinery and furniture manufacturing projects from initiation through handover.
- Learn to spot critical path tasks, task dependencies, and possible delays across the project lifecycle.
- Assist in preparing baseline plans, dashboards, and tracking tools that show project status and progress.
Coordination and communication
- Serve as a liaison between Setting-Out, Procurement, Production, Logistics, Project Management, and outside clients or other external stakeholders.
- Support clear and timely communication so all parties stay aligned on scope, milestones, and due dates.
- Assist with project-related correspondence and document handling with external counterparts.
Material and resource management support
- Work with the Material Engineer and Procurement team to review material needs, lead times, and expected delivery dates.
- Help track purchase orders, follow up with Procurement, raise concerns when required, and monitor delivery schedules.
Monitoring and reporting
- Support the preparation of weekly and monthly progress updates for management.
- Assist in monitoring production activity and coordinate with the production team to resolve communication or coordination gaps.
- Develop an understanding of project stages and map dependencies in progress reports to support structured follow-up.
Process improvement
- Provide operational and administrative support that helps the team work more efficiently.
- Suggest and help introduce process improvements that strengthen departmental performance and output.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design is required. The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and operations in manufacturing or construction/fit-out environments. Experience with extension of time analysis using different techniques is expected, along with hands-on work on baseline schedules, schedule updates, earned value management, weekly and monthly reporting, and dashboard preparation. Familiarity with Primavera P6 is required, and MS Project will be an added advantage. A strong understanding of project sequencing and the ability to manage multiple projects are important for this role.
