Role overview
FedEx Canada is seeking a Package Handler / Non-Driver for its Cranbrook, British Columbia facility. This position focuses on the movement and processing of freight within the site.
What you will do
- Unload incoming freight and load outbound freight.
- Scan shipments and organize freight by sorting it inside the facility.
What the role requires
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills are important.
- You must be able to complete all initial and refresher training successfully.
- The job requires lifting up to 70 lbs and moving packages as heavy as 150 lbs with the proper equipment.
Additional job conditions
This role is graded at 79 and offers a pay rate of $21.
The job summary is not exhaustive. Team members may be assigned additional duties as needed. Employees must meet the required thresholds for mandatory tests and training, work in a PC Windows environment, keep up with recurring training, maintain yearly accreditations when applicable, and be available for shifts that vary according to business needs.
If you live in Quebec, bilingual ability in French and English is required.
For positions where driving is a core responsibility, applicants must hold a valid driver's license such as Class 5, G, or 1[AZ], and must have no more than two violations and/or accidents in the 24 months before applying. Selection for such roles also considers the driver's abstract, interview performance, and any driving competency assessments.
