In the central laboratory, your work in laboratory diagnostics helps create the basis for fast and reliable treatment decisions across the hospital.
What the role involves
This position focuses on hands-on laboratory diagnostics, sample handling, device operation, quality control, and communication with clinical teams. You will work in a shift system to support laboratory services around the clock.
- Independently carry out automated and manual analyses across clinical chemistry, immunology, hematology including bone marrow diagnostics, cytology from punctures including cerebrospinal fluid, hemostaseology, and immunohematology.
- Receive patient samples, verify them, and prepare them correctly for the full range of tests.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain modern analytical systems, including technical validation and proper documentation of results.
- Perform internal and external quality controls in line with RiliBÄK and contribute to ongoing improvements in laboratory workflows.
- Work independently in immunohematology, including automated blood group typing, antibody screening, antibody identification, compatibility testing, and management of the blood depot.
- Review results for plausibility and coordinate closely with requesting wards and specialist departments.
- Take part in the shift roster to ensure continuous laboratory support day and night.

- Completed training as a Medical Technologist for Laboratory Analysis (MT-L) or Medical Technical Laboratory Assistant (MTLA).
- A valid professional license to use the job title; recent graduates are welcome to apply.
- Confident handling of common analytical systems and familiarity with the LIS OPUS::L / IXSERV, plus interest in modern laboratory technology.
- An independent, exact, and well-structured work style, even when sample volumes are high.
- A strong sense of responsibility and care when dealing with sensitive patient data.
