About the Organization

With branches in San Francisco and San Mateo County, the organization is expanding and is hiring a Learning & Development Specialist for its Golden Gate Branch in San Francisco.
Role Overview
This position plays a key part on the People & Culture team and is responsible for building, coordinating, and delivering learning initiatives across the company. The role requires a high level of independence and ownership, along with strong organization, attention to detail, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach. You will handle logistics, create training content, facilitate live sessions, and oversee several programs at once while partnering with teams across the business and reporting to the Director of Learning and Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee learning events, workshops, and training programs from scheduling through follow-up, including venue arrangements, materials, attendee communication, technology support, and post-session evaluation.
- Lead live in-person training sessions for new hires and current staff, ensuring a consistent and effective learning experience.
- Develop and continuously refine training assets such as facilitator manuals, participant guides, job aids, presentations, and e-learning content.
- Administer the internal learning management system, keeping learning resources organized, current, and tracked for completion.
- Assist the Director of Learning and Development with the summer internship program, including full logistical coordination.
- Coordinate scheduling, communication, and operations for Leadership Development Programs and Emerging Professionals Programs.
- Design and deliver technical training for departments by collaborating with subject matter experts to build relevant content.
- Work with cross-functional teams to create 30-60-90 day onboarding plans for new employees.
- Keep accurate records and data on learning programs, attendance, participation, and outcomes.
- Identify learning needs across the organization and suggest practical solutions to the People & Culture leadership team.
- Convert complex topics into clear, engaging training content that works for different learning styles.
- Contribute to other People & Culture initiatives and special projects as needed.
- Stay informed about current learning and development practices, trends, and tools.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Communications, or a similar field is preferred, though equivalent experience may be accepted.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Talent Development.
- Proven experience leading training sessions or presentations for groups of different sizes.
- Background in coordinating programs, events, or projects involving multiple stakeholders and moving parts.
- Experience in instructional design and creating learning materials, presentations, or similar content is preferred.

- Solid project management skills with the ability to balance several priorities at once.

- Curiosity and a strong commitment to ongoing learning and improvement.
- Team-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate across functions and build trust quickly.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office applications, learning management systems, and instructional design tools such as Articulate and Canva.
- Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively when priorities or requirements are unclear.
