Junior Quantitative Analyst

About the Role

A premier commodities trading firm is seeking a Junior Quantitative Analyst to join their front-office trading desk. This role offers a significant opportunity for an early-career quantitative professional to collaborate closely with seasoned traders. You will play a key role in developing trading strategies, conducting market analysis, and enhancing trading performance in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine quantitative models and trading strategies.
• Analyze extensive datasets to uncover market opportunities and derive actionable insights.
• Oversee trading activities, evaluate strategy performance, and monitor risk indicators.
• Assist in trade execution and continuously optimize systematic processes.
• Partner with traders and other stakeholders to enhance decision-making and trading results.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Exhibit a solid grasp of machine learning and statistical methodologies.
• Have experience in handling large datasets and performing data-driven analyses.
• Showcase robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain excellent attention to detail and the capacity to perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting.
• Express a genuine interest in financial markets and trading dynamics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in commodities, trading, energy, or a related market-facing sector is advantageous.
• Relevant internship experience in quantitative research, trading, analytics, or financial markets is a plus.
• Familiarity with systematic trading, quantitative modeling, or market analysis techniques is beneficial.
