Junior Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

This opportunity is for an early-career cloud professional who wants to grow in infrastructure, operations, and cloud services. The position involves supporting the setup, upkeep, and optimization of cloud environments, along with collaborating across technical teams to deliver reliable cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support the rollout, setup, and ongoing upkeep of cloud infrastructure and related services.
• Track cloud systems to help maintain availability, performance, and security standards.
• Assist in diagnosing and fixing cloud-related technical problems.
• Help manage cloud resources and carry out upgrades and routine maintenance tasks.
• Work closely with IT and development teams on cloud projects and solution delivery.
• Contribute to security measures, backup processes, and disaster recovery planning.
• Prepare and keep updated technical records and operational process documentation.
• Take part in automation efforts and other process enhancement initiatives where relevant.
• Assist with testing, performance tracking, and capacity planning.
• Keep current with emerging cloud tools, trends, and industry practices.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline is required.
• Applicants at entry level or fresh out of university are welcome to apply.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is needed.
• Understanding of networking, operating systems, and basic cloud infrastructure concepts is expected.
• Exposure to scripting or coding with Python, PowerShell, or Bash would be an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking are important.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential.
• Candidates must be legally permitted to work in New Zealand.
