About the internship
This part-time remote internship is designed for someone interested in graphic design for games and digital products. You will support the art and UI process across 2D visuals, simple 3D assets, promotional graphics, and production-ready file organization, while learning from experienced team members and contributing to ongoing projects.
Key responsibilities
- Help produce 2D game art such as sprites, icons, textures, illustrations, and concept sketches.
- Contribute, under supervision, to simple 3D assets including props, environment elements, and basic character models.
- Assist with UI and UX visuals like menus, buttons, HUDs, and interface icons.
- Maintain consistency by working within the studio’s established style guides.
- Create basic marketing and promotional creatives such as social media graphics, banners, and thumbnails.
- Work with artists, designers, and developers to apply review comments and revise designs.
- Keep asset files structured, clean, and ready for production use.
- Join team feedback sessions and use critiques to improve your work.
- Stay updated on tools, methods, and trends related to game art and design.
Required skills and qualifications
- A portfolio featuring 2D and/or 3D work from student projects, personal projects, or game jams.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, or similar creative tools such as Procreate or Krita.
- Some familiarity with a 3D creation tool such as Blender; beginner-level work is acceptable.
- Understanding of core art fundamentals including color theory, composition, shape language, and perspective.
- Willingness to learn game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Good communication skills and a receptive attitude toward feedback.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn from senior team members.
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred background
- Formal study or coursework in Graphic Design, Animation, Fine Arts, Game Design, or a related field.
- Experience with personal game projects, game jams, or freelance design work.
- Basic exposure to Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Interest in pixel art, low-poly 3D, or stylized visual design.
- Familiarity with Figma for interface design.
