Role overview
This position is a practical, hands-on role within a waste management and resource recovery operation in Castleblayney, County Monaghan. The successful candidate will help keep collection, movement, and handling of waste and recycling materials running safely and efficiently. The work is outdoors and physically demanding, and it suits someone dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working at pace.

Key duties
- Move customers’ bins to and from collection points along assigned routes in a safe and efficient way.
- Work outside with early morning starts and early finishes.
- Load and unload vehicles safely and in line with procedure.
- Handle, stack, and move materials according to correct storage methods and safety rules.
- Support warehouse and yard activities whenever needed.
- Carry out general cleaning and housekeeping to keep work areas tidy, organised, and safe.
- Check equipment and report any faults, damage, or signs of wear.
- Follow all health and safety requirements, site instructions, and company processes.
- Deal with customers and members of the public in a professional manner while representing the company.
- Work well within a busy team and also take initiative when needed.
- Build skills in operating loaders and other material-handling equipment if required.
- Take on other reasonable tasks as directed by the manager.

- Good physical fitness and comfort with manual work.
- Prior experience in manual labour is necessary.
- Own transport is required for this role.
- Strong spoken and written English.
- A dependable, trustworthy, and reliable approach.
- Willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- A friendly, professional, and safety-conscious mindset.
- Availability for full training.
