The company combines research, analytics, and strategic thinking to deliver practical, data-informed insights that help organizations solve difficult challenges and make better decisions. Its work also centers on helping clients use resources more effectively, improve how they operate, and adopt cost-efficient solutions that create real value for communities.
The firm’s key practice areas include strategic communications, socio-economic development, geological and environmental consulting, social protection and poverty reduction, change management, and digital development.
Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site Gallery Director position based in Abuja. The role is responsible for the overall leadership of gallery operations and programming, including exhibition curation, artwork display and rotation, and the delivery of an excellent visitor experience that supports Seismic Consulting Group’s wider cultural and development goals.
The Gallery Director will build and maintain relationships with artists, collectors, partners, and community stakeholders. The position also involves planning events, talks, and learning programs that strengthen public engagement with the arts.
Key Duties
In this role, you will oversee daily gallery operations, guide staff, manage budgets and reporting, and lead outreach and marketing efforts. You will also ensure that artworks are properly cared for, recorded, and cataloged, while working closely with internal teams to connect gallery activities with the organization’s communications and community impact work.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in gallery operations, including visitor services, programming, and day-to-day management. A background in arts administration is important, along with practical experience coordinating exhibitions, events, and stakeholder relationships.
You should have direct experience working in an art gallery, including artwork handling, display standards, and collection care. A solid foundation in art history and visual arts is also needed so you can assess, interpret, and present artworks effectively.
Leadership and team management abilities are essential, as is the capacity to communicate clearly with artists, clients, media, and the public. You should also be comfortable with basic budgeting, reporting, and digital tools used for scheduling, documentation, and marketing.
A bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Arts Administration, Cultural Management, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent experience may also be considered. Experience with public programs, workshops, or community engagement activities will be an added advantage. The role requires an on-site presence in Abuja, a flexible schedule for events, and a commitment to inclusive, respectful, and ethical working practices.
Additional Information
This position is intended for candidates who can contribute to both artistic presentation and community-oriented programming within a consulting organization’s broader strategic framework.
