About the role
Kroo Bank is working to create a new kind of social bank, one that uses money in a way that can improve everyday life and support the planet. The finance team is hiring a Financial Controller to join a fast-growing banking business. This position suits a qualified accountant with experience in financial services audit and around 1 to 2 years of post-qualification experience, ideally from audit, banking, fintech, or a wider financial services setting.
The role focuses on month-end close, financial control, management reporting, and setting up accounting and control processes for new products and significant transactions. A key part of the job is also to help improve finance operations through automation and better processes.
What you'll do
You will help ensure the bank produces accurate, complete, and timely financial information while keeping financial controls strong enough to support continued growth. The role includes ownership of month-end and year-end close activities, protecting the quality of financial data, and helping establish reliable accounting and control frameworks across the business.
You will manage balance sheet control work, support technical accounting analysis, and make sure new products and major transactions are properly recorded and controlled. Working closely with teams across Finance, Treasury, Risk, and Operations, you will contribute to reporting, process improvements, and strategic projects. You will also support finance transformation by improving automation and making finance processes more scalable and efficient.

- Help ensure financial data and reporting are complete and accurate
- Support external audits, internal audits, and regulatory reporting obligations
- Contribute to automation work that improves reporting, reconciliations, controls, and month-end speed
- Assist with reporting-system enhancements and wider finance transformation projects
- Collaborate regularly with Finance, Risk, Treasury, and Operations stakeholders
Requirements
