About the Role
PowerNet is seeking a strategic Development Manager to join our team in Queenstown. This pivotal role is designed to influence the future of energy within one of New Zealand's most dynamic regions. You will be instrumental in driving discussions on electrification and decarbonisation, cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders, and uncovering opportunities that foster sustained regional development. Your responsibilities will include representing both Lakeland Network and PowerNet locally, collaborating closely with local councils, developers, businesses, and the community to translate energy visions into tangible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic initiatives focused on electrification and decarbonisation in the Queenstown region.
- Build and maintain robust, trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including councils, businesses, and community groups.
- Identify and develop opportunities that align with long-term regional growth and energy transition goals.
- Represent PowerNet and Lakeland Network in local forums and discussions.
- Partner with developers and businesses to facilitate energy-related projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience within the electricity industry.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Established network and deep understanding of the Queenstown region.
- Proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities.
