About the Team

The Data Science organization at Stripe is a collaborative environment where data analysts and data scientists develop their skills together. In this role, you will work with important company data and help shape major initiatives. Stripe has multiple analytics teams and will match the selected candidate to the most suitable team based on their experience and background.

Role Overview

As a Data Analyst, you will work closely with teams across the business to provide the models, data products, and insights needed to support decision-making and responsible growth. You will partner with stakeholders to turn business questions into analytical problems, uncover insights from complex datasets, and create metrics, dashboards, reports, and pipelines that support day-to-day operations. You will also translate analysis into practical recommendations through clear storytelling and data-driven communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate deeply with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and deliver insights that support users, products, and business goals.
• Convert business objectives into well-defined analytical questions and measurable data solutions.
• Build and maintain metrics, scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools.
• Use analysis and narrative storytelling to deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
• Work with stakeholders to produce benchmarks, strategic analysis, and decision-support materials.
• Create self-service tools and provide training so partner teams can independently access and understand data.

Requirements

• Either a master’s degree with 2 years of full-time experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 3 years of full-time experience, excluding internships, in Business Intelligence Engineering, Data Analyst, or Business Analyst roles.
• Strong command of SQL.
• Demonstrated ability to manage several projects at once while maintaining a high level of accuracy and detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain findings and influence outcomes.
• Experience designing, building, and supporting data pipelines and dashboards based on stakeholder needs.
• Proven experience working with cross-functional teams to produce insights and recommendations.
• Ability to help teams become more data-literate through self-service reporting tools and training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a growth-stage internet or software company.
• Hands-on experience with distributed data systems such as Spark for building and troubleshooting pipelines.
• Solid understanding of software development practices, including engineering standards, code reviews, and testing.
• Strong grounding in statistics.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Experience preparing leadership reporting such as QBRs and MBRs.
• Familiarity with AI tools that speed up modeling, analysis, and coding work.

Work Setup

This is an office-based position in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Stripe expects office-assigned employees in most locations to spend at least 50% of the month in their local office or with users. This expectation can differ by role, team, and location. Some roles, including Stripe Delivery Center positions in Mexico City, Bengaluru, and Dublin, are fully office-based. Certain teams may also require more in-office time depending on business needs.

Pay and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this role in the primary location is CA$121,100 to CA$221,900. The final offer may vary by location and will be narrowed during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, and location. For applicants outside the primary location, the salary range can be requested during interviews. Compensation may also include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, retirement plans, health coverage, and wellness stipends.
