Role details

• This is a casual position, meaning shifts are offered as needed rather than on a fixed regular schedule.
• The site is Waterlea Lifecare in Blenheim, Marlborough.
• Work may include AM shifts and weekend shifts.

What you will do

In this position, you will help prepare hearty, nourishing meals for residents while ensuring individual dietary needs and food requirements are respected. The role calls for someone who is dependable, ready to assist where needed, and comfortable working in a resident-focused culinary setting.

Skills and experience needed

• Background in catering or food service, preferably in a commercial kitchen.
• A cookery-related qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Current food safety qualification.
• Strong interest in preparing quality food and creating a positive dining experience.
• Clear communication, good people skills, and effective time management.
• Friendly, helpful customer service approach with a genuine desire to support others.
• Proven ability to work to a high standard of quality.
