Role Overview
The Contracts Manager will be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will take ownership of construction contract administration across the full lifecycle. The role focuses on safeguarding the company’s interests, ensuring contractual compliance, reducing risk exposure, and helping projects move forward smoothly. This position also serves as a central point of coordination between project teams, clients, vendors, and legal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine, interpret, and prepare construction agreements with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring the terms are clear, compliant, and structured to reduce risk.
- Oversee contracts from start to finish, including execution, implementation, ongoing monitoring, and closure or renewal.
- Spot possible contractual risks, liabilities, and compliance gaps, then recommend practical actions to reduce exposure.
- Handle change orders, amendments, and other contract revisions while keeping complete and accurate records.
- Track the performance of contractors and vendors against agreed terms and act quickly when obligations are not met.
- Keep contract records, files, and databases well organized and up to date using document management systems.
- Work closely with project management, finance, procurement, and legal teams to resolve contract issues and disputes.
- Prepare contract updates, risk summaries, and performance reports for senior leadership.
- Lead negotiations with outside parties to secure favorable terms while preserving productive business relationships.
- Ensure all agreements follow Saudi Arabian laws, local regulations, and internal company policies.
- Monitor key dates, milestones, and deliverables to support timely delivery and accountability.
- Assist with claims handling and dispute resolution when disagreements arise under contract.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in construction contract administration or a closely related contract management role.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry practices, delivery models, and project execution processes.
- Good understanding of construction law, contractual duties, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience in reviewing, drafting, analyzing, and negotiating contracts.
- Ability to identify contractual risks and liabilities and recommend mitigation measures.
- Experience using contract management tools, ERP systems, and document control platforms.
- Excellent analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Capability to manage several contracts at the same time while meeting deadlines accurately.
- Experience in change order handling and claims administration.
- Familiarity with vendor and supplier management workflows.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Highly organized with the ability to maintain thorough contract records.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Professional conduct, strong ethics, and integrity.
