Role Overview

This full-time, on-site cleaning position is based at a Microsoft facility in the City of Cape Town. The role is focused on keeping the workplace clean, hygienic, and presentable across office areas, meeting rooms, restrooms, kitchens, and shared spaces. Daily work includes dusting, sweeping, mopping, disposing of waste, basic window cleaning, and caring for carpets and floors using the right tools and cleaning products. The cleaner will also replenish supplies, flag maintenance or safety concerns, and follow all health, safety, and security procedures while working with the facilities team to maintain a welcoming environment.

Key Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, kitchens, and communal areas.
• Carry out dusting, sweeping, mopping, and waste removal tasks as required.
• Perform commercial cleaning of workspaces and shared facilities.
• Handle basic window cleaning and routine care of carpets and floors with suitable equipment and products.
• Restock cleaning and hygiene supplies when needed.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, or other safety-related issues promptly.
• Work in line with health, safety, and security standards at all times.
• Support the facilities team in keeping the environment orderly, safe, and professional.

Qualifications and Experience

• Hands-on experience in commercial cleaning, especially in offices and shared work areas.
• Practical knowledge of household or home cleaning with a strong eye for detail and hygiene.
• Ability to do window cleaning and basic carpet maintenance using the correct equipment.
• Understanding of safe cleaning-chemical usage and compliance with health and safety practices.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow routines and instructions accurately.
• Physically able to stand for long periods, lift items, and move equipment when needed.
• Good teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with colleagues and visitors.
• Previous work in a professional cleaning or facilities environment is beneficial.
