Role Overview
Bucket Listers is hiring a driven Business Development Representative to help expand its marketplace of events and experiences on Bucketlisters.com. This position is focused on identifying, developing, and strengthening partnerships with organizers and brands across categories such as festivals, immersive art installations, helicopter rides, and other unique experiences. The role suits someone with a background in sales or business development who enjoys building relationships and has a strong eye for the best local events and attractions.
Location
This is a remote-first role, but the selected candidate must live in New York City.
Responsibilities and 30/60/90-Day Goals
- Learn the company’s business model, partnership types, and internal processes during the first month.
- Research organizations and partners that align with the brand, audience, and values.
- Start creating a pipeline of prospective brand partners.
- Build working relationships with teams in Content and Operations and become familiar with the CRM system.
- Develop knowledge of the live experiences, media, and ticketing sectors.
- Expand and manage a strong partner pipeline for the digital media and marketplace platforms within 60 days.
- Draft and send partner communications, including regular updates and key partnership announcements.
- Review sales results, metrics, and KPIs, then refine outreach and business development methods to support annual targets.
- Learn the company’s partner pitch, value proposition, and objection-handling approach.
- Work closely with teammates and share effective practices.
- Meet monthly revenue and contract goals within the first 90 days.
- Generate new leads and referrals to grow revenue across assigned markets or categories.
- Strengthen existing partnerships through upselling, renewals, inventory growth, creative campaigns, and other revenue-building opportunities.
Qualifications
The ideal applicant has prior success in business development or sales, preferably within live events, experiences, or ticketing. The role calls for strong organization, negotiation, persistence, and the ability to connect with decision-makers using creative outreach. Candidates should bring professionalism, integrity, efficiency, and the confidence to work both independently and in a team setting. A genuine interest in events, local venues, nightlife, and unique things to do is important, along with enthusiasm for exploration and the company’s mission.
