About the Role
Sedano's Supermarkets is seeking a part-time Bagger for its Pembroke Pines, FL location. This role is crucial for providing excellent customer service by efficiently and accurately packaging customer purchases. The position requires adherence to company policies, maintaining a safe store environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This is an afternoon shift position.
Responsibilities
- Package customer purchases into bags with care and accuracy.
- Assist customers by loading their groceries into shopping carts.
- Accompany customers to their vehicles with their groceries upon request or when necessary.
- Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and organize them appropriately.
- Return misplaced or discarded items to their correct shelf or display location.
- Greet customers warmly with a smile and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Support cashiers by performing price checks when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Contribute to overall store cleanliness and organization, promptly reporting any spills or hazards for cleanup.
- Participate in store or department meetings as required.
- Perform other related duties to support the store's objectives.
- Ensure punctuality and consistent attendance in line with company policies.
- Assist with stocking grocery items and maintaining shelf presentation by straightening displays and shelves.
- Help customers locate store merchandise and escalate requests to a manager or supervisor when necessary.
- Provide support to other departments as directed by the Store Manager on Duty.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read and speak both English and Spanish is preferred.
- Capacity to understand and follow instructions in English and Spanish.
- Skill in presenting information and responding to questions effectively in various settings.
- Good interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues and customers.
- Demonstrated responsibility for personal actions.
- Ability to apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
- Basic math skills and numerical recognition.
- Willingness and ability to work scheduled hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Proficiency in using hands and fingers for tasks.
- Capability to reach with hands and arms.
- Good verbal and listening skills.
- Possess close and peripheral vision.
- Ability to frequently carry, lift, and move merchandise.
- Capacity to push and pull shopping carts and stock carts.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with arms and shoulders.
- Ability to stoop, bend at the waist, and twist back and neck.
- Occasional ability to climb a step stool, balance, and crouch or bend at the knees.
