Architectural Inspector

Overview

The Architectural Inspector will oversee architectural and fit-out activities to confirm they align with approved drawings, project specifications, quality expectations, and relevant authority requirements. This position works closely with multi-discipline project teams to achieve high-standard finishes, correct installation practices, and on-schedule delivery of architectural scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of architectural and finishing works such as partitions, ceilings, raised floors, doors, fire-rated assemblies, waterproofing, and façade connections.
• Verify that site execution follows approved drawings, method statements, technical specifications, and quality benchmarks.
• Assess and reply to WIRs, MIRs, and RFIs within the required turnaround times.
• Track workmanship quality, finishing standards, and installation methods on site.
• Work with MEP, civil, and life safety teams to address coordination and interface challenges.
• Assist with fire stopping checks, access control coordination, and white-space fit-out activities.
• Keep inspection logs, snag lists, photo evidence, and closeout records up to date.
• Support snagging, punch-list creation, and confirmation of corrective actions for defects.
• Take part in commissioning readiness activities and final handover inspections.
• Raise quality, safety, and interface issues to senior engineers and project leadership when required.

Candidate Profile

The role suits a professional with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a similar field, along with practical exposure to architectural inspections, fit-out works, or finishing packages. Experience on data centre or other mission-critical projects is an advantage. A solid understanding of QA/QC procedures, WIR/MIR processes, inspection routines, fire-rated systems, finishing materials, and construction details is important. UPDA certification is preferred, and Grade A status is a plus. Strong coordination ability and clear documentation skills are essential.
