Role overview
This temporary onsite opportunity supports a major healthcare organization in the United States. The position is focused on creating a smooth beginning to each patient visit, improving service flow, and helping protect the organization’s financial and operational performance. The role calls for someone who is highly organized, careful with details, and comfortable working in a sensitive patient-facing environment.
Eligibility and work requirements
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Sponsorship is not available at any point during the assignment.
- This position can only be completed on a W-2 basis; C2C and 1099 arrangements are not accepted.
- You need to be available to work Pacific Time Zone hours.
Key duties
- Handle patient admission and intake tasks according to established procedures.
- Accurately record deductibles, co-payments, and deposits collected from patients.
- Obtain required signatures on intake-related paperwork.
- Track and store patient belongings in line with department rules.
- Scan all relevant documents into electronic systems before the shift ends.
- Use multiple online platforms to gather insurance details and patient demographic data.
- Manage priorities during busy periods to support service quality, efficiency, and financial outcomes.
- Work closely with colleagues and clinical staff to provide patient information and materials in a timely manner.
- Respond promptly to updates and messages from clinical teams.
- Contribute as a team member by offering help, requesting help when needed, and maintaining strong work quality with little supervision.
- Provide compassionate, timely, and appropriate customer service across patient service areas.
- Issue the Notice of Privacy Practices in accordance with regulations and organizational policy.
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and solution-focused approach at all times.
- Take part in meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required.
- Build productive relationships with internal teams and outside partners, including emergency services and regulatory bodies.
- Manage pressure in a constructive way while keeping the workplace positive.
- Confirm that office equipment is working properly and understand downtime and workaround procedures.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned to support department operations.
Required qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Typing ability of at least 30 words per minute.
- Experience using several computer programs at the same time.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service mindset with a professional, supportive approach.
- Self-driven work style with the ability to organize and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work from both stationary and mobile workstations, with sitting and standing as needed.
- Comfort working with a diverse team in a demanding, sensitive environment.
- Flexible availability for training and scheduled work shifts.
Preferred qualifications
- An associate degree is an added advantage.
- Ability to communicate in a second language is preferred.
Compensation and benefits
The target pay range for this role is $31.96 to $35.96 per hour. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as education, relevant experience, certifications, and location.
