ജോലി വിവരണം
Company Overview
Summerset is focused on creating vibrant retirement villages where residents can enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle. From early development through to day-to-day village life, the organisation relies on committed people who work together to deliver the best possible experience for residents.
Role Summary
Casebrook village is seeking a lively and imaginative Activities Coordinator to join the team. Previous exposure to events, hospitality, or aged care would be helpful, although a genuine desire to care for people from different backgrounds is considered more important.
This is a permanent position based in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand, with standard hours of Monday to Friday, 40 hours each week.
What You Will Do
You will design, organise, and run a wide range of resident activities and events, including major themed celebrations such as Mid-Winter extravaganza, Oktoberfest, and Chinese New Year. The position also involves supporting residents, including vulnerable individuals, and keeping in regular contact with their families.
You will use your creativity to develop decorations and themed environments for calendar events. The role also includes delivering exercise sessions, arranging outings, and coordinating sports and recreational activities, so a reasonable level of physical fitness is useful.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will bring strong people skills, clear communication, and a positive, solution-oriented attitude that helps create a good atmosphere for both residents and staff. You should enjoy working with older adults and have a respectful, upbeat approach to ageing.
Strong planning and multitasking ability are important, along with good written communication tailored to the audience and medium. Computer confidence is also needed, particularly with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
Qualifications and Requirements
You should either already hold an LCQ qualification or be willing to complete the training. A current driver licence and a first aid certificate are also required.
Additional Information
Summerset highlights a workplace culture built on care, teamwork, and a drive for excellence. The benefits mentioned for this role include Southern Cross Health Essentials Insurance, a full uniform, birthday leave, and discounts from a variety of suppliers.
Application Notes
Applications for this role close on 01/07/2026, and the position may close earlier if there is a high volume of applications.
Equal Opportunity
The organisation welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and values transferable experience from other industries. It also encourages people who may not meet every listed requirement to apply, with an emphasis on the whole person rather than a strict checklist.
