Job description

Position Overview

Join a safety-focused, welcoming team as a Tool Store Operator within Rio Tinto's Fixed Plant teams at various Pilbara mine sites. This permanent role offers competitive pay, annual bonuses, extensive benefits, and a family-friendly 8-on 6-off roster with Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) options from Perth and Busselton.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all statutory tools and equipment are properly tagged before distribution to personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of tool allocation and inventory.
  • Report missing or damaged tools promptly to supervisory staff.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on tooling to extend usability.
  • Source and manage necessary parts for operations.
  • Maintain and control stock levels effectively.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong dedication to personal and team safety practices.
  • Hold a valid Australian C Class manual driver's license or higher.
  • Ability to collaborate safely within a team and adapt flexibly to business needs.
  • Experience with SAP systems is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Background in warehousing, logistics, workshop environments, or familiarity with tooling equipment.

Work is based in Western Australia's Pilbara region, home to Rio Tinto's extensive mining and transport infrastructure, including 18 mines, 4 port terminals, and nearly 2,000 kilometers of rail.
