About the Role
DHL Supply Chain invites applications for a hands-on Stock Controller position based in Northampton. This permanent full-time role offers a structured shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off from 6:00 to 18:00, working within a bustling warehouse environment. The salary for this role is £27,162.50 annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining precise stock accuracy and inventory control in ambient warehouse settings.
- Performing various stock verification activities including stock takes, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations.
- Analysing and resolving stock discrepancies and addressing customer inventory queries by determining root causes and implementing solutions.
- Utilising warehouse management software, such as JDA Stock Control Systems, to update and keep inventory records accurate.
- Generating reports on stock and inventory using Microsoft Excel and other internal tools.
- Supporting customer investigations to swiftly and effectively resolve stock-related issues.
- Collaborating with operational teams to enhance stock accuracy and overall warehouse performance.
- Assisting with order picking, packing, and sorting during busy periods.
- Contributing to general warehouse duties including housekeeping and adherence to safety protocols.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in stock control or inventory management within logistics or warehousing sectors.
- Strong numeracy skills and comfortable handling numerical data.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset to identify trends and correct inconsistencies.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems, preferably JDA or comparable stock control platforms.
- Outstanding organisational capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-moving operational environment.
- Positive, adaptable, and team-oriented attitude towards colleagues and customers alike.
- Preparedness to complete assessment tests covering numerical and accuracy skills as part of recruitment.
