Role Overview
The position focuses on Linux system administration within virtualized environments and involves maintaining both server infrastructure and virtualization platforms to ensure optimal performance and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee RHEV virtualization environments, including monitoring datastore alerts and host/VM status, creating datastores, adding hosts, migrating VMs across clusters, and provisioning new VMs.
- Manage Oracle virtualization setups with responsibilities such as monitoring repository alerts, host/VM status, creating repositories, adding hosts, migrating VMs, and setting up new virtual machines.
- Administer and monitor Linux servers and Red Hat clusters using RHEL 7/8.x and Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) versions 6 and 7 with tasks including disk space monitoring, incident management, and vendor communication for troubleshooting and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) on unexpected reboots.
- Provision servers as per requirements on RHEL/OEL platforms.
- Manage NTP and BIND DNS servers to ensure time synchronization and domain name resolution.
- Apply critical patches and maintain servers with up-to-date software through Red Hat Satellite, ensure closure of vulnerabilities by deploying fixes and patches timely.
- Monitor incidents, service requests, and OEM cases to ensure timely resolution and follow-ups.
- Conduct health checks on physical servers located in data centers.
- Manage Logical Volume Management (LVM) and perform troubleshooting tasks on Linux servers as well as configure and troubleshoot VNC.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- B.Tech or B.E. degree in any specialization.
- 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration, virtualization technologies such as RHEV and Oracle virtualization.

Location for this role is Chennai, India. The role demands a proactive approach towards managing server infrastructure, timely application of security patches, and effective incident management to maintain system health and uptime.
